From Guilt to Grace: A Full Transformation of the Heart

Leaf it to me to begin a blog post with a pun.🍃

Speaking of leaves, this last week’s message at church was EPIC
It was all about the things we use to hide behind or camouflage as a result of shame, guilt, or fear. Just like Adam & Eve in the Garden of Eden, we too try to cover-up our shortcomings with “leaves”.

Whether we’re trying to escape God (or even others), we can’t run or hide forever. Sooner or later, our true selves—the good & the bad—will be revealed.

Whether it’s faking a false version of oneself, serving just to “look the part”, or always staying surface-level in community, there’s no need to live a life that is anything less than authentic. Why? Because we have complete & totalll freedom in Jesus. HIS GRACE has set us free.

Whether it’s faking a false version of oneself, serving just to “look the part”, or always staying surface-level in community, there’s no need to live a life that is anything less than authentic. Why? Because we have complete & totalll freedom in Jesus. HIS GRACE has set us free.

Sis, I don’t know where you’re at these days or if there’s something you’re hiding out of shame, guilt, or fear. Maybe there’s a certain sin you’ve kept secret… or some leftover regret you feel for X, Y, and Z
or a part of your past you wished would just disappear

We all have something. But what do you do with your shame—do you go to God or do you hide behind leaves like Adam & Eve?

Whatever it is, there’s nothing too big for Him to forgive or heal. Romans 8:1 says, “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” Accepting that gift of forgiveness is the first step in removing the “leaves” and stepping into true intimacy and relationship with God & our community!

So let’s leave that guilt behind, girl… Because this is who we were created to be: grace-filled & guilt-free!
