Like many of us, I woke up this morning with a heavy heart.
Our world is hurting right now. Unity is needed more than ever.
As I read & hear others’ stories, I feel compelled to not just respond… but really LISTEN. In a lot of ways, I feel inadequate to be posting on this subject altogether. My experiences simply don’t match those of my black friends. Nor will they ever. I can’t pretend to understand but I can vow to LEARN & grow in order to be a part of the solution… That solution being LOVE. ❤️
God’s heart breaks over these things just as yours and mine do. Amidst the recent events, I am grieving alongside my black brothers & sisters. While I’m not advocating for/condoning the violence, I wanted to acknowledge my responsibility in light of these situations to continue to listen, learn, & love.
In the meantime, let’s not allow this topic to fadeaway with the news cycle. I am praying we continue to challenge one another & embrace God’s heart for equality & justice. Fiercely loving each other in that process…
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.” (John 13:34)
We are called to love. Just as Christ loves us.
